![]() ![]() ![]() It's definitely not a perfectly smooth read - the book does take a while to really find its groove, but the heart of it is right there from the very first issue. I was surprised by how well those stories hold up, actually - even in these very early issues of Hellblazer you can see a lot of the DNA of other famous Vertigo titles that came later, books like Preacher, Sandman, The Invisibles, Shade The Changing Man and tons of others definitely owe a lot of their style and tone to Jamie Delano and what he did with John Constantine right here, in Original Sins. But it all started right here, with Jamie Delano and John Ridgway kicking off Constantine's earliest solo stories in comics. ![]() ![]() Chief among them is the original Hellblazer, one of the most famous Vertigo series with an incredibly impressive list of creators attached to it over the years. Now that DC decided to kill Vertigo off for good, I wanted to go through some of the imprint's books that I always wanted to read but haven't yet gotten the chance. ![]()
